Is there a way to hire someone to sell your antiques and you get a lot of the money?
We have a lot of antiques and NOTHING to do with them. We don't know what their worth, we tried ebay, and we don't want to just sell them at really cheap, random prices because we already got ripped off on some items. Please help.

- First you need to do your homework. You can research the item and try to find its value. Then double check your research and have the item(s) appraised. If the items turn out to be worth something you can have them sold by an auction house. The auction house will take a percentage of the sale. You can try and sell them yourself (after you know their values) by going to antique stores etc, but you might get low balled. Therefore, again good to know the value, and have knowledge of the items. Research is the essential tool. Of course you may choose to go back to ebay once you know the actual values. But you may choose other methods of sale.
- well you are after the wrong information- to hire someone is to post on like classifieds- what you need is a salesman.
- Find a auction house in your hometown, research a few and then choose the best... Live auctions are always better.... Also have an estate sale, advertise in the paper to let people know what you have.... then sale sale sale~!
- Other than auctions, try to find a shop that will sell them on consignment for you. They will attract the right buyer for the items you have on hand and pay you handsomely because they have zero inventory cost associated with the sale.
- HI. Try an estate liquidator. We have a service in NY through maryantiques.com - we value, price, tag, advertise and sell your items for a percentage of the sale. I am sure there is a similar service in your town. Call some antiques stores to find out. This may sound morbid .... but .... you can also call local funeral homes, they should know of estate liquidators. You can also try an online search; your town + estate liquidation. If you have numerous valuable antiques call an auction house -most handle estate liquidation. If you sell to an antique dealer - they will usually offer you 30% of value. You can try consigning items with a dealer, they usually take 30% of the value on consignment. Good Luck.
