Auction houses for antiques?

I have a bunch of vases and other various antiques which have been sitting in my garage for the pass 5 years. I would like to find an auction house to auction off those goods. What are some well known auction houses with lots of bidders and the possibility of fetch a decent price.

1. Do you know the value of these items ? Often people think they have valuables but they are only worth less than $50 each .Sometimes much less . Condition is EXTREMLY important . Especially now that the market is down . You could try the consignment shop at the Newport Art Museum ( Rhode Island ) . The Antique price guides are overpriced by at least 50% . If you sell at auction or to a dealer expect 25% of book . You might want to hire an appraiser . ( app. $50 per hour .)
