Antiques as an income?
I have a slight interest in antiques-not much experience. But, does anyone BUY/COLLECT/TRADE antiques for a source of income (not as an antique dealer or store)? Thanks.

- Yes... I do. I collect and save when I want to, and sell when I need the cash (like recently when my water main blew unexpectedly) then I sell. I am always buying and selling things at a huge profit. but it is only as a result of years of experience. I actually know what I am doing and have even found treasures in Thrift stores that I have sold and turned over a few hundred dollars profit that only cost me pennies on the dollar. Literally! The trick really is to always keep up with what people are buying. A few years ago Crocks were the thing to buy... Now you can't give them away. Recently the retro market hit bottom and no one wants it anymore. I laugh to think about how many people are stuck with that ugly crap now... YUCK! And then you have the timeless items. Prints, woodblocks, art, bronze, ceramics.. good reputable pottery. Art- Deco items Certain kinds of glassware... Things like that are always in and will always gain in value. It is kind of like the stock market.
