Redoing my roommm (vintage appeal)?

Redoing my roommm (vintage appeal)? im redoing my room completly from walls to furniture. please help me get ideas for colors and vintage ideas. i am thinking painting my walls all white and the top of my room reallyyy light blue kinda like the sky. i love flor de les's so im gunna get black ones and hang them around my room. or paint them. also im going to hang a chandeliers. those are just some of my ideas. please helpp. vintage chic (:

  5. go to all the thrift stores and pick up little unique pieces. Yeah chadeliers sound great and maybe an old wooden dresser. Maybe lace curtains? and some brass candle holders or ornaments. sounds like you're going to have fun doing this! :)

  10. i think that u should really just express urself with your room...like if u want a ski u should paint the celing blue, then take tissue paper and and rub the wet paint in circles...it looks really kool......

  12. i thiink maybe you should do the white wall idea but then have one of the walls wallpapered in maybe a floral pattern?? im doing the one wall wallpapered thing in a retro flower print. =] maybe a vintage dressing table? a nice lamp? pick up a couple of pretty things. =]

  15. Snap! I was thinking of redoing my bedroom in a kinda vintagey Esq french interior way. There is a lovely website called www.lauraashley.com and it sells everything from furniture, cute chandeliers, candle holders, anything really :). Ikea's quite good for flower stencils that you can stick on the wall and its also good for not to pricey but good furniture, like really sweet looking iron cast Esq bed frames. You should check EBay and see if anyone is selling any vintage cabinets, mirrors, etc just be careful about quilted furniture in case there is any stains. You could maybe decorate your bedroom quite plainly and vamp it up with cool and noticeable accessories. I hope this helps :).

  17. Why not go with a white and gold color scheme? White and blue is also very French. You could either go casual (crisp lines, cotton fabrics, bright colors) or formal (deeper colors, fussier fabrics like lace & velvets) within a theme like this. Have fun with it. If you're looking for true vintage, hit a thrift store or even an antique store (looking is free and sometimes things aren't that much more expensive than a regular furniture store). Look for pieces that could be painted, distressed and otherwise fixed up to put into your room. There are a ton of cool ideas that work with this theme. Use your imagination!

Love Vintage Ive recently done my room over...love it I have what you call antique cream on three walls and Dulux Billberry, which is a very rich purple/violet on the smallest back wall, ive opted for white furniture with and cream/white carpet (I only got that coz mum hates laminate, but if you can have that i would) I have three large full length mirrors situated on one wall all parallel to each other with a gap in between of about 5cm, they make the room look a lot bigger.. to match chuncky mirrored phot frames and a chuncky mirrored light shade.. My make up side is my fav tho, i love vitage Jewellery so i have the stand most girls have, just an elegant cream one, the manakins, with all my fav jewellery, i also have used small gold nails on the purple wall random and hung my fav long necklaces..sound random but looks lush, with twinkle lights and patterned cushions (lots of cushions) try this for inspo http://www.idealmoments.co.uk/shelving.list If you want vintage, i think less is more.. try one colour base and a pretty detailed pattern in one area..

  20. Love ur ideas but heres some more! Definitly do the chandelier! The Colors sound great but if you can I would put some dark wooded trimming around the top and bottom of the celing and floor.
