How do you get rid of mildew smell in old wood furniture? Does a few days in the sun really work?
This furniture is very old and has over 90 years of being in the humidity. So I believe the mildew smell is deeply imbedded in the wood. How would you get to that!?

- Get rid of the furniture, buy new furniture!
- Be careful of drying out wood in the sun because it might split. My favorite anti-mildew compound is X-14. I spray it in my shower when the black fungus comes around. It only works after several days of drying. You might consider a murphy's soap wash down, dry, then follow up with X-14. Don't be a moron .... read all directions.
- just being out doors will help but then put it in a room with a dehumidifer for a couple of days to complete the prosses.a good rubbing of wood oil would be advised before any thing is done.
- use a oil sope and let it dry on it's own, then oil it down one more time, with just a good oil. that should help.
