How can tobacco smell be removed from old wood furniture safely?

Cleaning old wood furniture to remove tobacco without damaging finish.

1. you could try shaking baking soda over it or if its a table etc wiping it down with water and a bit of baking soda but have the cloth just dampened not soaking... if u are shaking baking powder over it, leave it on overnite then vacuum next day.
2. May have to work down the finish and re-finish There are products like "smoke be gone" that is used in cleaning after fires, it works on smoke smell and would work on tobacco smell also
