How to do wall paper on very old dorm room furniture??
When I go back to my dorm, I want to cover the old furniture w/ wall paper. Has anyone done this? I want to do it and be able to make sure I can get it off in a 8 mo. This furniture is old old old. Its wood and its scratched up very badly. I honestly don't think i could do more damage. I have never done wall lpaper before. Any how tos or advice? *It doesn't have to look all professional. Can I just staple it or something. I just don't want to stare at my ugly built in wooden furniture.

- er this needs a little more thought. Unless you are going to just look at the furniture, how long do you think the wallpaper will last? its not durable enough. try fablon [sticky backed plastic] its difficult on large flat areas as you tend to trap air bubbles -these can be pierced with a pin and flattened but its messy why would you want to remove it? you could try vinyl emulsion paint it will come off relatively easily [compared to gloss] but again is not overly hard waring. the best option in my opinion is to properly prepare the surfaces - it takes hours! - and varnish the wood or stain it with teak oil the result is hard wearing and if done well need not be removed as it will have improved the overall appearance and value of the furniture. wall paper is not a solution i would consider but that's just me! Good luck in whatever you decide Andy
- Wall paper probably wouldn't stick to the furniture and would take forever to get it on there the right way. You might consider contact paper and better yet make a fabric camouflage which you can easily tack on and then you will have any color and some pattern as well. You can usually find some fairly cheap stuff in the discontinued sections of any fabric outlet.
- consider fabric and spray glue
